Microstructure changes of hardened cement paste in time under the influence of ammonium chloride solution

Durability of reinforced concrete tanks to store liquid wastes is an important exploitation problem. The tightness of the walls, on which depends the protection of groundwater from contamination is of particular importance. This paper presents the results of the microstructure of hardened cement paste, corroded by ammonium chloride – a compound present in coke sewage. X-ray examinations on phase composition were conducted. The porosity of the microstructure, morphology and phase identification were determined under the scanning electron microscope. The concentrations of chloride ions were determined basing on potentiometric tests. It was found that the porosity of the specimens was reducing over time, because empty spaces were occupied by secondary corrosion products.

Optical properties of a protective – decorative wall barrier coating system exposed to the UV and visible light are discussed. The influence of a photocatalytic silver layer on whiteness, brightness and color difference is examined.

Marketing of construction products under regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the council, and in light of the act on construction products

The requirements of Regulation No. 305/2011 (CPR) establishing harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products came into force in 2013. The regulation also led to the amendment of the Act on Construction Products. The paper presents the current situation in the legal implementation of Regulation 305. The obligations of the manufacturer, importer, distributor, and rules for introducing products on the market are presented. The current status of implementation of the requirements for the marketing of fi re protection products is also discussed.
